Networking for zinesters

We’ve started a group called Zines for Commuters on new networking site We Make Zines. If you’re not a member of both already then sign up!

The Opinion Society looks worth checking out too. It’s held at the end of every month at Sticky in Melbourne.

Volunteer opportunity at Sticky

Sticky is currently seeking people who are interested in becoming a volunteer in their Degraves Subway shop for one day per week. You don’t need to be a maths wiz nor do you need to have any retail experience, you just have to be confident with people, like zines and are a dab hand at keeping paperwork in order.

If you’re interested please email Elle at stickyshop@gmail.com or give her a call on 0421 479 153.

Get to It: ‘Anyone Can…’ the launch

I’ve been hanging around with a great group via cyberspace called City Library Street Press and we’ve just put together a collaborative zine called Anyone Can Make a Zine. We’re having an awesome launch event at Sticky, 6 September, at 1-2pm and then heading back to the City Library where you can decorate the cover of your very own copy (only $4) and partake in some yummy home baked food. Click here to view the invite.

Oh, and I personally contributed two pages so I’m naturally quite excited about seeing the finished product.
